~Convention Overview~

Sun Jun 11, 2017, 7:44 PM
So! Just got home and settled down after 4 straight days of awesome convention life at A-Kon 28 and I gotta say, this was SOOOOO much better than the one last year! The venue was much roomier and everything was just much more casual and happy! :love: Let me list off some things that made this one stand out!

:bulletpurple: The amazing and hilarious Seraph of the End photoshoot that I helped organize with a very kind Crowley leading the way
:bulletpurple: My adorable new ferret plushy that's now my pillow~ :huggle:
:bulletpurple:  The fact workers and valets weren't rude and pushy like how they are in Dallas this time of year...... Hi! They were so nice~
:bulletpurple: That awesome Pride Parade that went through downtown and all the people that showed their true selves!  bi-pride woot
:bulletpurple: This one kinda freaked me out though..... The insane amount of YuriYaoi on Ice cosplayers........ Oh Noes! It could've been considered an indiscernible mob made up of  just 3 characters considering how many there were!! Strong fandom though, evidently! ^^;

Thanks to my amazing sisters :iconhirashikumori: and :iconnunna-chan:, some incredible pictures were to be had of all the Dreamers OC's I cosplayed and some will be put up when they're all collected! :squee: As for the day I went as Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End, I'll find the Instagram links of the photoshoot for you all to see! :D

So... where did you learn to draw?

I'm self taught actually! A friend in school inspired me. I've been drawing for almost a decade now.

How do you self-teach yourself? Research? Tutorials? What's the secret?

Practice and tutorials! Pinterest is a wonderful place to look for references, poses, and tutorials. As for supplies.... Find yourself a big pack of disposable mechanical pencils, a white eraser (cuz colored erasers leaves streaks), and some sketch paper in a spiral sketchbook. I say spiral so it's easier to keep track of your progress and drawings! But a secret.... hmmm.... determination, inspiration, and a comfort zone! The first two for fairly obvious reasons, and a comfort zone for you to establish what you're most used to drawing, that way you can stray out of it safely to broaden your drawing horizon but have something warm and safe to return to when you need a break!
